Coffee is the main export of Nicaragua and it represents an entire social and economic system that involves much of the Nicaraguan population. We invite you to learn the entire process and all the social aspects that lie behind a great cup of coffee, from the plantation to your table.
First we will visit a farm where you can learn and participate in the wet process that includes, harvesting, pulping, washing and fermenting coffee. In the afternoon we will take you to the Dry coffee mill, where the natural drying and industrial preparation of the coffee is carried out for export. This visit includes also a cupping session in the lab.
Behind each cup of coffee lies much work and ancestral knowledge, many investors, multiple processes, technology, grief, crises — plus a lot of culture and tradition.
